Summary
The
STOCK REDLER range of standard slide gates are of a pressed mild steel construction
covering a size range shown on the dimensional chart. Square or rectangular
openings can be catered for to any dimensions within these limits. Three
types of standard slide gate are available.
- LIGHT DUTY (L): Fabricated from 3mm pressings with 6mm slide plate.
- GENERAL DUTY (G): Fabricated from 5mm pressings with 8mm slide plate.
- BUNKER DUTY (B): Fabricated from rolled steel sections with 15mm
slide plate.
The slide plate for light and general duty units runs on nylon rollers; nylon
tufted brush strips held in contact with the slide plate by resilient sponge
cord seal the slide plate.
Bunker
type slides for use under silos incorporate steel guides for the slide plate.
Various modes of actuation are availableincluding
- HAND OPERATED
- SCREW OPERATED
- RACK AND PINION OPERATED
- ELECTROPNEUMATICALLY OPERATED
All types of slide can be supplied fitted with microswitches for slide plate
position indication and will have all internal wiring and piping supplied complete.
Flush fitting slides can be supplied where required: e.g.: certain food
industry applications.
When slide gates are for use with conveying plant, the units can be positioned
across or along the casing.
Features and Benefits
- VERSATILE: Broad range of standard options ensures a slide is available
to suit most requirements.
- RELIABLE: All types give reliable long term service.
- ROBUST: Fabrication techniques and refined design mean minimal maintenance.
- TOTALLY ENCLOSED: All moving parts are totally enclosed which means
safe, dust tight operation.
- CLEAN: Special seals ensure dust is contained. Flush fitting
slides available if required.
- COST EFFECTIVE: Standard units ensures prices are competitive.
- CONTROLLABLE: Electropneumatic units can be tuned for optimum slide
plate speeds.
- FLOW CONTROL: Manual units allow for slide plate to be fully open/closed
or any position between.
- PROVEN: Established throughout industry as a STOCK REDLER standard product.

- Air supply pipe diameter: 8mm for G and B type. 6mm for L type.
- Client must provide a clean air supply with a pressure of 5-10 BAR via 8mm
outside diameter pipe to the connector mounted on the slide frame, for electropneumatic
units.
- Solenoid valve electrical ratings: Nominal rating 5W
- Operating power AC 10VA DC 5W. Holding power AC 8VA DC 5W. Temperature

65 IEC publication 144 is available.
Range
 |
- HAND OPERATED SLIDE GATE (TYPE HOP)
The simplest type available, slide plate operation is manual via a simple
handle. There is no top cover on the slide frame.
|
- RACK AND PINION SLIDE GATE
Of totally enclosed design, this type employs a rack pinion actuating
mechanism operated by:
- MANUAL HANDWHEEL (TYPE RPH)
- MANUAL CHAINWHEEL (TYPE RPC)
- AUTOMATIC MOTORISED (TYPE RPM)
Motorised units are particularly suitable for applications where an
air supply is not available.

 |
 |
- SCREW OPERATED SLIDE GATE
An alternative to the rack and pinion type of slide, operated from
one end. This type can also be applied to a sloping outlet and has a
mechanical advantage over a hand operated type.
- MANUAL HANDWHEEL (TYPE SCH)
- MANUAL CHAINWHEEL (TYPE SCC)
- AUTOMATIC MOTORISED (TYPE SCM
|
- ELECTOPNEUMATIC SLIDE GATE
The ideal choice for applications requiring automation. The air
supply is controlled by a solenoid operated spring reset valve with
R¼” BSP ports for G and B units and R·” BSP
for L units. All valves have manual override controls and interchangeable
coils are available for voltages in the ranges 24 and 50 VOLTS DC and
24-440 VOLTS AC. Adjustable throttle valves mounted on the exhaust
ports of the solenoid valve control the opening and closing speeds of
the slide plate.
- SINGLE SOLENOID (TYPE EPS) or
- DOUBLE SOLENOID (TYPE EPD) are available.
These slides may not be suitable for use beneath large silos.
